Psychotherapist and Behavioral Therapist
Jordyn Herman, LCSW, ASDCS
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist with a passion for supporting individuals and families on their journeys towards emotional well-being. I graduated from Fordham University, where I laid the foundation for my career focused on mental health and social work. With over a decade of experience, I have had the privilege of working with toddlers, children, and families, particularly within birth-to-three programs and school social work settings.
My practice is dedicated to providing high-quality care through both in-person and telehealth appointments, making it easier for my clients to access the support they need. I specialize in working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety, depression, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I also have substantial experience supporting LGBTQIA+ clients and addressing a range of issues related to anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, negative thinking patterns, women’s issues, life transitions, boundaries, self-esteem, social skills, transitions, unexpected changes, sensory sensitivity, executive functioning, time management, and organization skills.
My therapeutic interventions include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), executive functioning training, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I tailor my approach to meet the needs of each individual and family I work with, ensuring that we create a safe and supportive environment for growth and healing.
I am dedicated to empowering my clients with the tools they need to navigate their challenges and embrace their unique strengths. Together, we can work towards achieving your goals and enhancing your quality of life. If you are ready to take the next step in your mental health journey, I would be honored to work with you.
Toddlers, Children, Adolescents & Adults
I offer individual therapy with adults using CBT, DBT and executive functioning training. I utilize age-appropriate social and emotional activities and games for toddlers, children and adolescents to foster emotional regulation and enhance emotional and social awareness. My approach is grounded in creating a safe and engaging environment where young individuals can explore their feelings and develop essential coping skills. I am passionate about empowering youth to navigate their emotions and build meaningful connections with others.
Parent Coaching for Behaviors
I specialize in implementing effective behavior modification strategies tailored to meet each family's unique needs. I understand that every child is different, and what works for one may not work for another. This is why I take a personalized approach in my coaching sessions, working closely with parents to develop strategies that resonate with their family's dynamics and values.
Couples Therapy
I offer couples therapy, focusing on communication, boundary-setting, executive functioning, intimacy and developing empathy toward one another. I believe that healthy relationships are built on trust, understanding, and effective communication, and I work diligently to help couples navigate their unique challenges.
Assessments and Evaluations
I conduct assessments and evaluations necessary for diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorder, utilizing evidence-based practices to ensure accurate and comprehensive assessments.
Supervision
I supervise interns and employees who want to work toward their clinical hours to obtain their LCSW license. I provide specific study tools and case scenarios to help their learning so they feel confident going into the exam. I would be happy to supervise MSW’s who want to pursue this credential.
Information About Health Insurance
As part of my commitment to making mental health care accessible, I am in-network with several health insurance providers, including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna/Evernorth, Husky, Optum, United Healthcare, Oxford, ConnectiCare, and Magellan.
My goal is to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent individuals and families from receiving the essential support they require.
